To maintain optimal separation performance, separators require both level and pressure control. Traditional separators typically use fixed-pressure control technology. In variable-pressure level control of separators, a float-type level controller is used to actuate oil and gas control valves, allowing coordinated operation to regulate crude oil and natural gas flow rates and thus control the liquid level inside the separator, without direct pressure control of the separator itself. Variable-pressure level control minimizes throttling by the oil and gas outlet valves, reduces separator pressure, and enhances separation efficiency. Both oil-gas separators and oil-gas-water three-phase separators are widely used at field gathering stations and central processing facilities.
